U-69, the lead boat of the VIIC series, conducted 10 combat patrols, participated in 7 Wolfpack operations, and sank 19 Allied ships. On February 17, 1943, the submarine was sunk by destroyer HMS Fame during the hunt for the ONS-165 convoy.
